for your perfect barn wedding
Shady Lane Farm offers the opportunity to make your barn wedding truly unique: clients choose from the area’s vast array of food options and wonderful local purveyors of flowers, décor, and rental items, to realize their highly personal and distinctive vision. We are delighted to share tips and expertise acquired from our years of experience and many, many joyful celebrations.
Shady Lane is both relaxed and elegant; there are countless possibilities for using the barn and grounds in ways that best suit your event, whether it’s a formal sit-down, a casual picnic, the latest in food trucks, or some wonderful idea we have not yet heard!
Information
- Our three full day rental includes use of the barn, the grounds, and the bridal suite. There is the option for overnight stays.
- You have all the time you need for set-up, a rehearsal, the big event, and winding down in a relaxed no-pressure environment.
- The barn accommodates 200 seated.
- We offer five wooden whiskey barrels (empty!), four farm tables, 150 white folding ceremony chairs, signs and props, a cast iron wedding bell, a rustic grape arbor, a huge “game lawn,” a reclaimed barn wood outdoor bar, and a charming custom cornhole set.
- Plenty of power and running water access.
- Plenty of parking.
- We are here to accept deliveries all week.

A few details…
- In accordance with the town noise ordinance, we kindly ask that music end at 10:15, and parties by 10:30.
- You may provide the liquor as long as it is served by a licensed and insured server, with Shady Lane Farm named on the liquor liability policy (available online, we can advise).
- On-site bathroom is for the wedding party. Restrooms for guests need to be rented; we can offer guidance on those options.
- Find accommodations at the beautiful Pineland Farms guest houses (book early!), the Poland Spring Resort, and local AirBnB’s. Portland, Freeport, and Auburn have plenty of hotel options.
